Michelle Calvo is a licensed master esthetician who has been in practice since 2005. Michelle is a two-time recipient of Northern Virginia’s Magazine "Best of Nova", receiving the award for best facial. She incorporates natural, holistic, clean, organic, botanical and gluten-free products for her facials, and prides herself on attention to detail in each and every facial treatment. She is located in the heart of Fairfax Corner, in a boutique style spa room, which is quaint, comforting and incredibly relaxing.

Skincare Treatments

FACIALS

No two facials are ever alike. Skin changes even from month to month. The current condition is addressed and treated appropriately. As a general guideline, I double cleanse, select an appropriate enzyme, or perhaps a lactic peel, steam skin, if needed, perform gentle extractions with an ultrasonic tool and also manually. I also like to perform a great facial massage to move lymph and give great circulation for that fabulous glow. I select a facial serum and seal it with an appropriate moisturizer, facial oil if needed, moisturizer and SPF.

My facials can differ a bit by using different ingredients based on your skin type. For example, after dermaplaning, some skin types may tolerate a lactic peel, while others would benefit more from a gentle enzyme. My options range hydrating pampering facials, Vitamin A Infusion facials, LED, Microcurrent and much more. If you are not sure which facial to select, I offer extra time for a First Time Client so which facial suits your current skincare needs.

MICROCURRENT

Dubbed as a Holistic Facelift, my Tama Blue Microcurrent facial will lift tone and tighten using gentle microcurrent waves that are so comfortable, most clients will fall asleep. This is a great alternative to Botox and fillers, as it gives a natural fresh-faced, lifted look with no downtime or chemicals. Areas such as eyes, nasolabial folds, lip lines, jowls and neck area can be treated. Microcurrent can be done alone, or paired with other modalities. To build longer lasting collagen building, a series is recommended.

Resurfacing Peel

Rid hypigmentation, soften fine lines and wrinkles, clear acne, and rebalance oil and hydration through these gentle but effective peels. A series is recommended.

Dermaplaning

My dermaplaning facial will have your skin feeling silky smooth in no time flat. Using a medical grade tool, I gently remove the dead layers of skin, and as a bonus, the peach fuzz is removed, giving your skin a smooth glowing appearance, which products penetrate better, and makeup goes on smoother. I often can see pigment issues disappear as I am dermaplaning, (think of the skin layers as the layers of an onion. Layer by layer, dead, pigmented layers are removed with is a manual device.) After dermaplaning, I select an enzyme or a lactic peel. This procedure can be done every 4-6 weeks. This is no pain, and peach fuzz does not grow back worse. I finish the facial with gentle extractions and a mask, serums, moisturizer and SPF. Dermaplaning can be paired with other modalites as well.
